Nominations for the upcoming 81st Golden Globe Awards to be announced on CBS

E. Nina Rothe December 9, 2023

The list of films and TV series nominated will be unveiled this Monday, December 11th by Cedric “The Entertainer'' and Wilmer Valderrama.

Finally, the way is over. Well, almost. After all the weeks that we, the voting members of this upcoming exciting edition of the Golden Globes, have been going over our choices and selected our favorites for the upcoming awards, our selection will be revealed. And not a moment too soon IMHO.

While films like The Burdened, the Yemeni submission to the Oscar race and a personal favorite, will not be included because of a technicality, there are plenty of other titles that made the longlist. And now, inshallah, will make the nominations list.

Nominations will be unveiled on Monday, December 11, 2023, while the awards ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Cedric “The Entertainer'' and Wilmer Valderrama will present the nominees for the 81st Annual Golden Globe® Awards on Monday, December 11, 2023, with all categories announced on CBSNews.com/GoldenGlobes beginning at 5 a.m. PT/8 a.m. ET and ten exclusive categories revealed live beginning at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. ET on “CBS Mornings” on CBS. The nominees will be highlighted across Golden Globes social media accounts as they are announced, with the complete list of nominees available on the Golden Globes website (GoldenGlobes.com) immediately following the announcement. The 81st Annual Golden Globe® Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.

Executive producer, director, actor, comedian and novelist Cedric “The Entertainer” and actor, producer, and activist Wilmer Valderrama will present the nominees for each of the 27 award categories. Cedric is currently starring in and executive producing the CBS hit comedy The Neighborhood, as well as starring in and executive producing the A&E Network series Kings of BBQ and hosting and executive producing The Greatest #AtHome Videos. Valderrama currently stars in the #1 TV drama NCIS on CBS and is developing a live-action Zorro series at Disney Branded Television. Valderrama is also a producer and activist, engaged in philanthropic initiatives, and actively involved with various organizations, including the USO, HARNESS, Voto Latino, the National Hispanic Media Coalition, and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

Two new awards categories were introduced earlier this year and will be awarded for the first time at the 2024 Golden Globes ceremony, including Cinematic and Box Office Achievement in Motion Pictures, and Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.
